On this day in history....

Rickey got his Farmall tractor to run!!

So Rickey got an old Farmall Cub tractor last week (1956 to be exact!). At the time it was not running and needed some work. So our neighbor redid the carburetor in hopes that was the only work it needed. Well, that didn't work so they worked on it all day on Saturday. ALL. DAY. LONG. Finally they decided the problem was beyond their expertise and called it a night around 5:30. Sunday, Rickey got Justin Bishop to look at it to see if the problem was something he could fix. The two of them tinkered on the tractor for about an hour and still no luck. Justin went home, researched a little, and gave Rickey  some instructions on how to reset the timing. (I have absolutely no idea what "resetting the timing" means!) After Rickey got home from work on Monday he went about resetting the timing... Low and behold it worked!! The tractor ran!! And  it didn't smoke, which is a very good sign!! :) So of course, I ran out and took a video and a few pictures!! :)

Now Levi has a real Farmall to match his little ones in his room!!! :)

It's not the prettiest but Rickey likes it and that is all that matters!! :) (Levi will like it later!!) ;)

The sweetest wake up call ever!

So Rickey and I have a deal worked out so that we both get to sleep late on the weekends... He gets up on Saturday so I can sleep late and I get up on Sunday so he can sleep late. ( I'm up 

anyway on Sundays, getting ready for church I just have to wake up earlier than normal to take care of Levi too...) 

Now this Saturday, Levi woke up twice during the night and once around 6:00 to feed him. 7:45 rolls around and I hear Levi start to whine a little bit. Then I hear "Mama! Mama! Mamamama!" Over and over again. Rickey asks me "Do you want me to get him?" And of course I'm thinking "I'm so tired!! Duh!!!!!" Then I  told Rickey "But he saying "Mama!!!" So I sneak in his room to see what he is doing and his entire arm is stuck through one of the rails on the crib and his face is pressed against it and his is still saying "Mamamamamama!!!" I laughed so hard! Of course I couldn't get to my camera fast enough but that is  a wake up call I will always remember!!! :) So this  Saturday no one slept late!! :) :) :)

One word...

"Ma-ma"!!! Yes, Levi just said the magic word!! Yay!!!

He has been saying "Dada" and even "Hey Dada" but not "Mama".... Until today!!!!! Of course my first reaction was that I heard him wrong so I got him to say it again. Then he went around in his walker saying it over and over. Now, I am not really sure if he is talking to/about me when he says it but at least he is saying it!!!! Yay Levi!!!!!!!

Pulling up

Levi pulled up all by himself today!! I had just put in his crib so that I could get out more diapers and when I turned around he was pulling up on the crib!! Of course he stopped as soon as he saw I was looking so I started talking to him and started pulling up again until he finally stood up!!

Of course I didn't have my camera (because I wasn't planning on him pulling up by himself for the first time!) :) so later that day we went back to the crib and he pulled up three more times before he got tired. And this time I had my camera!!

He did it!!!!! :)

He saw himself in the mirror!

Levi ~ 8 Months

Levi at 8 Months:

• weighs 20 lbs.
• is  28 inches long
• has 4 teeth (two on top and two in bottom) and an upper lateral incisor on the way. (Yes, I looked up the correct name!) ;)
• has hair that is getting darker and thicker! Plus that curl on top is getting longer! ;) 
• has mastered the army crawl! He does his little army crawl all the time. Rickey will build little towers out of Levi's blocks and Levi will crawl over to them and knock them down, it is so cute!!
• favorite toy: everything! He still plays in the walker but it is not really his favorite anymore. I recently got the play pin out and he plays in it with different toys. Books are also a favorite. He loves to listen to them being read and them when he gets tired of that, he wants to chew on them! ;)

He has seriously gotten so big! 

• eats lunch and supper. Lunch is a whole container of baby food. Supper is a little bit of whatever we are having. Since it summer we grill out almost every night and usually we will have something Levi can eat like mashed potatoes or grilled squash and zucchini. On nights we don't have something he can eat, he eats leftover grilled squash. He loves it and the grilled squash seems to be his favorite food right now. :) I also give him one bottle during the day and nurse him up to six times in one day; depending on how many times he wakes up at night... 
• wakes up one to two times each night... I wish he would cut back to once a night, and some nights he does. But other nights he wakes up two to three times. :/ Maybe one day.... :)
• adores being outside! He likes to "walk" around, ride the four-wheeler (yes, we ride the four-wheeler with him VERY CAREFULLY!!! I'm sure we look like complete rednecks with a baby on a four-wheeler but he likes it) , swing, and just climb all over his mommy and daddy. Anything outside makes him 90% happier! :)
• has been completely and utterly spoiled this summer! I have so loved spending the summer with him! He plays constantly! We go from playing in the play pin, to walking outside, to napping, to swimming in the "pool". It has truly been great! And to think I have one more month until school starts back!!!!!! 

His new ball!!! :) 

July 4th was also Levi's first Independence Day! We celebrated by making a quick run to Oxford where Levi got the orange spikey ball. :) Then we went swimming with Nana Anna, Papa John, Aunt KK, Uncle Ken, and Roxyanna. Then we all ate supper together (adding Aunt J)! He had fun swimming but he was not a fan of his life jacket. Overall, I think it was a pretty good way to celebrate our nation's birthday! :)
