Coy ~ 5 months

At 5 months, Coy is:

weighs approximately 16 lbs

is approximately 25 inches long

wears 3-6 or 6 months size clothes.

wears size 2 diapers.

still nurses at night and basically sleeps in our bed full time… ;)

His favorite toys are the frog teething toy and the walker. He is getting pretty good with the walker too!!!

Loves to smile!! He will grin at everyone that talks to him!! We haven't met a stranger that he doesn't smile at!!

Rickey has nicknamed him "Coy Boy"; which big brother Levi has adopted too… :)

Bath time is still his favorite time of day... He loves the water!! 

Is cutting his bottom two teeth like crazy! I am expecting them to break through his gums at any time!! He doesn't drool a lot but he is constantly wanting to chew on something, which most of the time is his little frog.

Has said "Dada"!! I honestly can't believe he said it but they heard him at daycare too! Rickey loves this little fact!! ;)

Adores talking to his big brother!!!! Levi will get down in front of Coy and Coy just lights up!!!

Has tried baby food for the first time around 4 1/2 months and hated it!!! It was horrible for both us! So I decided to try just the mesh bag feeder, Nuby makes one, and he loved it!! He loves bananas and pears! We will try baby food again later! I give him the bananas or pears while we eat supper, that way he is eating something too! ;)

He is so loving and cuddly! He loves to laugh and play with us brother, mommy, and Daddy!! He has such a sweet, loving, and fun personality already!!!

I saw this on Pinterest and thought how very true it is!! 

Now let me explain: 

 Levi HATES to get his clothes wet and cries when they do get wet. He also strips himself down as he is crying because he wants new clothes that aren't wet. 

 We don't let Levi anywhere near our applicances. 

I've never tried to feed him after midnight because that would mean I was planning on staying up the rest of the night. Not gonna happen for this momma.

Yep. Sometimes I have no idea want Levi wants or why he is crying. In that case he usually shows us after he has cried for a minute because he is frustrated....

He cries/whines when the sun gets in his eyes. 

Never tried it because I know it would be a waste of money. Side note: Rickey and I haven't been to a movie theatre since Fast and Furious 6 came out while I was pregnant with Levi. 

Thankfully this is behind us... Right before he turned 2, he cut all four of his "Two year molars"... When was cutting those I put a bib on him so he wouldn't ruin his shirt! ;)

Too true!!! My boy is beautiful!!!!!! 

Again, true. We definitely know when Levi is pitching a fit. 

I thought it was amusing to see how true this little thing was. But regardless, I feel sooo blesseqd to be his mommy and I mostly laugh at his "terrible two tantrums" (but where he can't see me do it!) :) 

Coy~ 4 months

At four months old, Coy

Weighs 14 lb 15 oz

Is 26 inches long

Wears 3-6 month sized clothes. And size 2 diapers.

Eats every 3 1/2 hours. He takes a 4 oz bottle when he is at daycare and he went up to the size 2 nipple with his bottles. 

He still nurses at least once during the night.

HIs favorite toy is the walker. He can push it backwards.

Sleeps in the playpen beside me at night.... Until he wakes up, then he sleeps with my arm around him. ;) (I never let Levi sleep with us at night until he turned a year old. Now they but sleep with us!!)

Can roll over from front to back and front to back. When he is on his back he just twists and turns all sorts of ways. Rickey thinks he will be crawling shortly just because he likes to move around so much. :)

Levi Colt~ 2 years old

At two years old, Levi:

weighs 25 lbs.

Is 34 inches tall.

wears size 4 diapers.

wears size 2T clothes and 6 1/2 shoes.

Has a immense vocabulary and talks in sentences. He likes to repeat what we say. His favorite sayings are "Mind!" (Mine), "I need it!", "Where's Coy at?",  "Dtop it!" (Stop it!), and these are just a few!

His favorite TV show is hands-down Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He can even do the "roll call" at the beginning of the show! ;)

Loves on his baby brother like no one else! Sometimes he will love on Coy and then when Rickey or I ask for a kiss he refuses!! The little stinker!!! He is always asking where Coy id, why is Coy crying, and if he is crying, Levi insists on getting Coy's paci for him! He is by far the best big brother!!!



Loves anything trucks! He will play with trucks all day long! Monster trucks, match box trucks, tractors, little trucks, big trucks, fire trucks, and everything in-between! :D

Loves to sit and read books (which makes this bookworm mommy for happy!) ;)

He can be a bit bossy when it comes to certain things especially if he wants something. Which is a fine thing, he will definitely be a leader!! ;)

There truly aren't enough words to describe his spectacular personality! He loves to laugh and to make us laugh! He loves tickling, running and playing, chasing, anything that is fun!

 

We are so blessed to call this precious child ours and we thank God in Heaven for him every day!!!!

Coy Blake - 3 months

At 3 months Coy:

Weighs 14 lb

Is 24 Inches long

Wears size 1 diapers and 3 month size clothes.

Drinks 4 oz of breast milk every 3 1/2 hours at daycare. He wakes up at least once during the night (Most of the time it is just once, praise The Lord!) to nurse and then goes right back to sleep.

He wakes up most mornings around 5:00-5:30 just to talk and laugh before big brother gets up... :)

Is still a complete snuggle bug! Which this mommy adores because I love to snuggle with my boys!! 

His favorite toy has changed to the jumper. (Plus the swing has officially died so he doesn't have much choice..)

A few more milestones that he has reached this month have been laughing out loud (he may get tickled...) ;) and crying "real tears"... :'(

His favorite time of the day is bath time! He loves it! He smiles and laughs and is just so sweet!!!! 

Has a lovey just for him. Mrs. Elizabeth suggested he get one and make it smell like me to help him rest better during the day. So we bring it home everyday and I sleep with it each night. It seems to have done the trick because he seems to have adjusted well...

Absolutely adores his big brother! Coy laughs out loud when he hears Levi laugh, cries when Levi cries, and loves when he comes and talks to him! It is precious!!!!!

Pumpkin Patch 2015

We went to visit Bennett's Farm and play in the pumpkin patch with Levi & Coy's sweet baby cousin Aizen! Levi had a blast and Coy pretty much slept the entire time... But he was sure cute doing it! ;)

First Day of Daycare

It had to happen some time... Coy's firsts day of daycare...

He did really well and I was comforted by knowing that Levi was there with him. This day back was actually a big change for all of us because Levi started back to daycare full time too. During the summer he only went once a week and when Coy arrived he went twice a week.

Whoever said that it is easier with the second one lied. It was not easier for me. If anything it was harder for some reason... But either way I am super thankful and blessed to have our daycare! Mrs. Elizabeth is wonderful!!!! :)

Coy's Baby Dedication

We dedicated Coy at two months old. This dedication is meant for us as his parents to vow to raise Coy to believe in The Lord and for the church to stand behind him and be his church family. We were so blessed to have every single family member their for this special day. And we thank The Lord in Heaven for both of our beautiful blessings from above! :)

Coy - 2 months old

At 2 months old, Coy...

Weighs 12 in 2 oz :)

Is 22 1/2 inches long

Nurses/eats every 3 hours and 15 minutes. When he does take a bottle it is 3 ounces of pumped breast milk. I have been giving him one bottle every day since he was about 3 weeks old. He uses Dr. Brown bottles. 

Wears size newborn diapers (but is moving up to size 1 RIGHT NOW!) and is in 0-3 and 3 month size clothes. He is definitely a chunk! 

His favorite toy is between the swing and the baby mat. He loves laying in the swing and talking to the little elephants that hang over it but... Our swing has died. :( We got the swing used and Levi barely used it but Coy has loved it since day one at home. We definitely got the $20 out of it with Coy! :) The baby mat is also a favorite for Coy. He does tummy time and naps on it and sometimes he just hangs out looking around on it. He is *starting* to like the bouncer but the swing is still his favorite.

He loves his big brother, bath time, and being tickled on his nose! Yes, Coy is ticklish on his nose!!!!! He has the SWEETEST little smile and his little eyes just light up when you talk to him or he is laughing. And bath time is his absolute favorite time of the day! As soon as I put him in the water he just starts looking around with great big, round eyes, laughing and splashing! Melts my heart!! :) I have taken to calling him a koi fish,so he is "Coy the koi fish".... LOL!

Still sleeps a good bit during the day. He goes through longer wake periods in the morning and afternoon but the middle of the day (between 10-3:30/4:00) he sleeps most days. 

Wakes up once during the night *on most nights*. If he does wake up more than once I nurse him the first time and then try to give him a paci after that. I do this because I learned with his big brother that unless I want to nurse multiple times every night for the next six months, I needed to start "sleep training" early! Not that I consider what I do sleep training... It is just my version of what I think is best for me and my baby! :)

Gives the absolute best snuggles! He loves to be held close and sleeps best on my chest. When people hold him I just tell them to "hold him close" and he just snuggles right in! If he is awake and someone is holding him, he wants to be UP on your shoulder or sitting facing out, no cradle hold for this big boy! ;)

Holds his head about 80% of the time. As mentioned before, he likes to be up if he is awake while you hold him so I have just let him hold his own head and he does a great job! I actually tried to put him in the big jumper that we have but he is still too small for the seat! 

Has rolled over a few times! He doesn't seem to like tummy time all that much but have just let him fuss for a little while when lo and behold the next thing I know he has rolled over! The first time he did it I didn't get to see how he rolled, the next day I watched him close during tummy time and there he went! :) I was super excited for him! Yay Coy!!!!
