RSV

Well, what I was hoping was just a runny/stuffy nose is actually RSV. (RSV is short for a type of respiratory virus that is contagious.) Monday after taking him to daycare and getting home Levi's cough sounds a little worse. I did not know if we should take him to the doctor or not. So we called and they said if we came right then they could see us that night. So, we loaded up and headed to the doctor. The first thing they did was test him for RSV and it came back positive. Dr. Caballero is super nice and reassured me that I did not do anything wrong and that I cannot keep him in a bubble. :( So, no more daycare for Levi until he his better. that means that I am taking 2 days and Rickey is taking 2 days and hopefully by Monday of next week he will be better. As far as treatment goes, Dr. Caballero gave him a prescription incase he starts wheezing; which is very likely with RSV. Rickey and I are both worried to death even  though the doctor didn't seem to think that it is so bad. We are
keeping him upright as much as possible so all the messiness can drain out instead of in his lungs. Y'all please say a prayer for our little man to get better quickly...

Even though he is sick, he is still in such a good mood! He just loves to play!!

2 More Firsts

Well, as the title states, Levi has had two more firsts. These first are not; however, some that I was not looking forward to. They are a stuffy nose (began on Thursday) and real tears (Saturday). My heart breaks for both. The stuffy nose is something that others from daycare are suffering with as well. And apparently when babies are born they are not born with the ability to cry tears. Later, they develop this heart wrenching skill for the sole purpose of breaking their parents heart.

So, the stuffy nose has Rickey and I both into a huge tizzy. We now have a humidifier running and the Scentsy filled with Vick's. We are just praying it works and makes our little man better. One good thing is the stuffy nose has not affected his attitude, which is a huge blessing! Levi is acting just like normal! The only time he really lets me have it is when I suction his nose. He hates it! But I have confidence that this stuffy nose is simply that and will soon pass. (I just pray that is what it is.)

Now about the tears. They came Saturday. As I held him Saturday doing whatever he wanted to, he was happy. At this time he wanted to be held while he watched TV. But when I stopped, he got mad and cried. Real tears. Needless to say, he got what he wanted. I could honestly barely stand the sight of him crying because he looked so pitiful. I now know that Rickey and I will do just about anything for him to keep those tears out of his eyes.

The sweet boy taking his nap. He is just so precious!

On a completely different note, would you all say a prayer for a dear friend of mine, Natalie Wilson and her family. Her dad has been battling cancer for almost two years and the doctors told them Saturday that the cancer is growing too quickly to stop. Natalie, her husband, and two children are on their way to Arkansas to be with him now. I know that she would appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Levi celebrated his first Valentine's Day! He celebrated by going to daycare and getting lots of goodies from all of his daycare friends! He also got a card from Aunt KK, a stuffed monkey from his Grammy (Linda) and a cute, Valentine's Day outfit from Nana (Anna)! Can you say spoiled? ;)

His Valentine's Day attire
His shirt says "I Love Mom & Dad" ;)

Levi's first Valentine's Day card... apparently the card tasted good!

Levi 3 Months

At 3 months Levi:

Weighs 13 lbs
Length  24 inches
Wakes up about 2 times each night.
Loves to talk and play with his teddy bears. He likes to watch TV and listen to music. He tries to suck his thumb when we aren't looking. We finally found a paci to will stay in his mouth; however, he only gets the paci to go to sleep and after a bottle. The reason for this is  even though heis finished with his bootle he still likes to think he is eating so he takes a paci then. We still do tummy time and he is getting better. He doesn't seem to hate it quite as much. :)

A typical day for Levi:
I wake him up at 6:00 to be fed and changed before daycare. We leave and are at daycare by 7:00... I am usually running late. At daycare he takes two bottles and one to two naps throughout the day and from what I understand he watches TV and talks a lot. :) I come get him at 3:30 so I can feed him between 4:00 and 4:30. Then he plays until I feed him again at 7:30. He may take a short cat nap inbetween those feedings but it is only about 20-30 minutes. After that feeding we talk and play until 8:30. At 8:30 he gets his bath, which is his favorite, and then we snuggle until he goes to sleep. He normally goes to sleep around 9:00 or 9:30. He sleeps in the nap nanny that is in the play pin by our bed.

The rest of our snow vacation

While others were stuck on frozen roads we were at home in the warmth with our boy. We had so much fun with our little man during the "Gridlock". We basically played for three days straight! I honestly think the good Lord knew that I needed some time at home with Levi and Rickey. After playing all day Wednesday that night we moved the spare bedroom's mattress into the living room so we could be closer to the fireplace. Thursday we played on the mattress all day. Levi loved it!! He even like tummy time on it!  When Rickey and I moved it back to the spare bedroom I was a little sad to see our new found play mat go; but it did take up a lot of room! Friday I HAD to go buy our tags... on the last day of the month! :) Aunt Zora went with us and we all spent the rest of Friday playing!! Saturday I finally cleaned the house. But we still played most of the day! All I can say is this: 1) We had so much fun with our boy! 2) Levi amazes both of us and he is the apple of our eyes! 3) Mrs. Elizabeth is going to kill us come Monday! LOL!

A few pictures to document our fun:

Isn't he just the cutest thing! :)
