Levi's First Snow

Well, our day normal day turned into somewhat of a hectic day. Why? Because the predicted "dusting" was wrong by about 3 or 4 inches. I was supposed to get out of school at 11:00 but because there were so many wrecks and ice all over the road buses couldn't leave. Rickey went on to get Levi from daycare at 11:30. I was so worried! Like I have never been so worried in my life! I am so thankful that my boys made it home safe. After Rickey made it home, he came to get me at school. I literally did breath until we were all safe inside. :)

Levi spent his first snow day inside, in the warmth of house. I honestly did not want to take him out and risk getting him sick.
This is how we spent Levi's first snow day... Cuddling on the couch!!!

Duke loved the snow!!

Our predicted "dusting" of snow covered my feet!!

He rolls!

Levi hates "tummy time". In order to get him to do tummy time we normally have to sit with a toy in front of him and press different buttons to make noise. I have also downloaded two Fisher-Price baby apps to the iPad that he loves! We do whatever we can to make tummy time not so miserable for him. Well, tonight during tummy time, Levi decided that he had enough and he rolled over! I thought that it might have just been a one time thing so I put back on his stomach. Well, he did it again! I was so proud of our little man!!
After he rolled over.
You can tell be the look on his face that he dislikes tummy time.

The Arrival of Levi

Let me start from the beginning...
Rickey and I were trying to get pregnant for exactly one year when I got pregnant with Levi. I had just been to the doctor in February 2013 and she told me that we need to start looking into why. She also wrote me a prescription to make me ovulate. Something about it didn't feel right though. Rickey and I agreed to wait a little longer and see what happened. I was pregnant 2 weeks after the doctor's appointment. How amazing is our God?
Now fast forward to the actually pregnancy. I loved it!!!!! It was great! I loved feeling my little boy move!! The first time I looked at the sonogram, I looked at Rickey and said "It's a boy. It just looks like a boy." (F.Y.I. I was right!)
Now fast forward to November 4. I went the doctor the Tuesday before and was almost a 3. We made the appointment for November 4 and went about our week. I was preparing myself for the doctor to have to induce me on Friday. Sunday, November 3, we went to church and then to the annual car show. We walked around there and then came home where I walked a mile with Duke. Then Rickey and I rode to the creek on the four-wheeler to get his truck out of the mud.
10:00p.m. that night after my shower I noticed that I was bleeding a very tiny bit. So I called the answering service for my doctor and they connecting with a nurse. WELL... the nurse informed me that we need to come to the hospital now because "you can have a miscarriage at 40 weeks". My heart dropped. I looked at Rickey and told him what she told me. We rushed around the house gathering everything and we were on the road.
11:00p.m., Once we arrived at the hospital and they discovered everything was fine but we still had to wait 2 hours before they could release us. I told Rickey over and over that I was so sorry because we were not going to get back home until 1:00 a.m. then and we were going to have to go to work in the morning.
1:00 came and I was having regular contractions and had dilated to a 4. They admitted me to hospital and said I was in labor! I had no idea!!!!! So after everything got settled and phones were made we walked around the hospital to help move things along.
3:00 We walked around for about 15 minutes and then I sat back down. Not 15 minutes after I sat down my water broke. Ya'll, it was the neatest thing ever! It was like sitting on a water ballon!!! I just looked at Rickey and said "My water is breaking!" :) Then the real contractions started.
3:30 I got the epidural! It was so weird! I definitely appreciate the medicine, however; I DID NOT like not being able to move my legs. Kara had also showed up between 3:30 and 4:30.
Fast forward to 9:00... Everybody has showed up for Levi's arrival and I am finally a 10 and ready to push. :) I pushed for 50 minutes and then Levi was here! It was amazing!!! * Side note: by this time Rickey and I had been up for 24 hours straight.*

So there you have it. It was wonderful and fast! The Lord blessed me with a healthy baby boy and delivery and I thank Him everyday for that.

And he laughed!

Because of MLK Day, I was able to stay at home with our sweet boy all day! Aunt Kara and Aunt Zora came for a visit this afternoon too. He was so prefect all day! He took a very small nap this morning and then a long one this afternoon so I was surprised he wasn't fussy! (I would have been!) So as we winded down Rickey gave him his bath and they listened to music while I got myself ready for sleepy sleep.
Then as we were going through our nightly routine of lights off and snuggling with our paci he started smiling and talking. Rickey, of course, thought this was hilarious and started laughing because Levi showed no signs of going to sleep. Then Levi started laughing!!!!! LAUGHING OUT LOUD!!! It was prefect!  I could not believe it! It sounded like a little chuckle!! I am so thankful and blessed that Levi is a happy baby, even when he his trying to go to sleep!!

So Levi has finally laughed out loud!!! Yay!!

This is just too cute not to share!! :)

Too loud!

The T.V. must have been too loud because this is what I found when I went to check on him during his afternoon nap! His little hands are covering up his ears!

Isn't he such a sweetie!!

He has been "playing" with his hair while he eats here lately. I think this is just precious because that is how I put myself to sleep until i was about 11 years old.

Baby Dedication

We dedicated Levi to the Lord today. Basically, this means that we promised to raise him up to know the Lord and be a Christian example for him. Levi did great during the dedication and when Bro.John held him. Everyone in our families decide to join us on this special day. However, we did not take many pictures. :(  I am trying to do better about that.

Here are some of the pictures we did take.

New discovery

I found the prefect place for Levi while I did the laundry! I needed to put the clothes that were in the washer into the dryer so I just put him in the basket with what came out of the dryer and he loved it! :)

Look at that cute little smile!

Levi 2 months

Levi at two months:

Weight: 11.9 lbs
Height: 24 inches

What he loves: being talked to, read to, his bouncer, and playing! We are constantly talking to him and tickling him with his teddy bears.

He still hasn't laughed out loud but he definitely smiles a lot! He can also hold his head by himself most of the time. The only time he doesn't is when we are picking him up and when he sleeps. He is also awake most of the day. He normally takes 3 one hour naps n one day and then wakes up once during the night. He started daycare January 3 and did great! I just pray he continues to do well!

He also got his first round of shots on the 7th. It was terrible!! He screamed so loud! It broke my and his daddy's hearts! :( But he did fine the next day, he was cranky or run a fever so we were very thankful! The doctor said his height is above average and his weight is average.

We just love that smile!!

First day at daycare!

Levi's first day of daycare was today! Mrs. Elizabeth said he did great!  I, on the other hand, was extremely nervous! I was convinced that she would call me and tell me that he has been crying since I left. But, thank the good Lord I was wrong! :)

Happy New Year!

We celebrated the new year the prefect way... With each other! So much as happened in 2013. It amazes me how blessed we are... We got pregnant, I graduated from JSU, I got my dream job, and we had a beautiful, healthy baby boy all in one year! So, needless to say this year has been great! I look forward to 2014 and to see what it has in store for us!

Levi said "Happy New Year!" :)
